When I begin to create my art I simply start with a sketch indicating where the elements will be. I use a lot of reference work and gather many photos and materials. Then my imagination takes over to complete the piece.

My imagination is influenced by the colors, shapes, and textures that surround me. The sky may be blue but the nuanced yellows, reds, and purples of a sunset inspire the color composition of my art. The everyday shapes we see, like cardboard boxes, are broken down to create new figures and arrangements on canvas. My love is to transfer my imagination onto the canvas so you feel my energy and spirit. I want my perception of everyday visual elements to be seen through various abstract designs. I might simply begin with green but as I paint yellows and blues enhance the shapes and energize the canvas. My ideas and perception emerge through my art, and excite me to continually create new pieces.

When people look at my art I want to “wow” them. I want them to feel what I feel and experience the joy and passion I have for art. My wish is to inspire those who see my art to look at our world for the beauty and happiness it brings.
